Parish Church of St. Andrea in Vals

The construction of the church in Vals dates back to 1341. In the 15th century, the bell tower built of stone blocks (1483) was erected in the Gothic style, together with the pointed-arched windows and the octagonal dome. In 1889, the church was remodelled by Josef Huber and was given a transept and a polygonal choir with a rectangular Gothic vault. The choir is adorned with frescoes painted by Matthias Pescoller in 1904. The interior furnishings are the result of restoration work carried out in the Neo-Gothic style. The church was elevated to parish church only in 1891.
