The natural-snow cross-country ski trail in Terenten is located in the village centre and offers two options: a moderately difficult 3-kilometre loop and an easy 2.5-kilometre loop. Both lead through the winter landscape and are suitable for beginners and more experienced cross-country skiers. The starting point is at the Terenten sports area.
You can hire cross-country skiing equipment from Engl ski rental in the village.
Please note that the route may be adjusted depending on snow conditions and may therefore differ from the GPX data.
The Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp offers a 25-kilometre cross-country ski trail for both classic and skating techniques. With gentle ascents and descents and a total elevation gain of 300 metres, the route leads from the Zumis car park to the Roner Alm, past the Pianer Kreuz chapel and on to the Starkenfeldhütte. Both huts are also open in winter and offer refreshments. Along the way, you can enjoy views across the alpine meadows towards the Peitlerkofel.
The Vals cross-country ski loop is varied and suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. With several difficulty levels, it offers suitable sections for relaxed laps as well as more challenging sessions.
You can hire equipment on site if you do not have your own and start straight away.
Enjoy a varied descent on the Brimi Winter Run at Gitschberg. The approximately four-kilometre toboggan run starts at the Nesselhütte near the mountain station and leads down to the middle station. Along the way, you will encounter numerous bends.
If you do not have your own toboggan, you can rent one near the car park at the valley station.
The Pertinger Alm toboggan run leads from the Upper Pertinger Alm down to the parking lot above Nunewieser and is suitable for all winter enthusiasts. The ascent takes around 60 minutes and follows trail no. 5 through the winter landscape. During the Christmas period, the mountain hut is open daily and afterwards at weekends.
This family-friendly toboggan run in Terenten is ideal for an enjoyable winter outing. The easy descent and its location in the village centre make it particularly suitable for families and young tobogganers.
Winter tobogganing fun also awaits you in Vals. The Schilling gondola takes you to the ski slope of the same name, next to which you will find a natural toboggan run. The route is around one kilometre long and descends 152 metres, making it ideal for an exciting day in the snow.In case you do not have your own toboggan, rental options are available in the village.
The toboggan run at the Oberhauser Hütte is suitable for adults and children. It starts near the new water reservoir above the hut and finishes directly at the Oberhauser Hütte. The approximately 370-metre-long run has an easy to intermediate difficulty level and is particularly suitable for families and leisurely descents.
Use of the toboggan run is free of charge. When the run is prepared, you can access it at any time. Toboggan hire is available during the Oberhauser Hütte’s opening hours from 26 December to 1 March. Monday is the weekly closing day.
